Commercial Ground-Mount Solar
Ground-mounted solar systems transform available land into productive energy assets that generate renewable power at scale.
Ground-Mounted Solar Systems
Ground-mounted solar panels are installed on metal framing
secured to the ground and positioned to capture sunlight efficiently.
These systems can accommodate a range of site conditions, project
requirements, and generation capacities. Depending on the racking
design, panels may be positioned from a few inches to several feet
above the ground to help limit site disturbance.
Core Development Group provides Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services for independent power producers, solar developers, energy asset owners, and organizations across the commercial and industrial sectors. Our experience spans ground-mounted solar projects from 1 MW to more than 15 MW, including both behind-the-meter and front-of-the-meter applications. Capabilities extend from design and procurement through construction and project closeout, with construction management supporting project delivery. Our experience also includes ground-mounted solar projects on brownfield sites, capped landfills, and other remediated properties.
Ground-Mount Solar Benefits
Ground-mounted solar systems can generate renewable power at scale while providing benefits such as:
- Flexible commercial, community solar, and utility-scale applications
- Potential electricity cost savings
- Greater long-term budget predictability
- A hedge against rising electricity costs
- Potential tax incentives and depreciation benefits
- Progress toward organizational sustainability goals
Each ground-mounted solar project is designed around site conditions, generation requirements, applicable permitting, and utility interconnection requirements.
Site Conditions and Racking Design
Ground-mounted solar systems are installed on racking designed
around site conditions and solar exposure. Depending on
geotechnical conditions and project requirements, the racking may
be supported by ballasted foundations or secured with driven piles.
The appropriate mounting approach is determined through site
assessment and engineering.
System Size and Generation Capacity
Ground-mounted solar systems are designed around project
generation requirements, site conditions, available interconnection
capacity, and applicable permitting requirements. System size and
anticipated energy production vary based on factors such as site
layout, solar exposure, equipment selection, topography, and utility
requirements.
Community and Site Considerations
Ground-mounted solar projects are designed to address
surrounding land uses, environmental conditions, and local
permitting requirements. Depending on the site and project design,
plans may incorporate fencing, native vegetation, landscape
screening, stormwater management, and other measures to help
reduce visual and environmental impacts.
Design and Construction
Core Development Group has more than a decade of experience
designing and constructing ground-mounted and community solar
projects. Our capabilities extend from design and procurement
through construction management, commissioning, and project
closeout for behind-the-meter and grid-connected systems.
